About Dr. Stason
Our Practice
The Center for Osteopathic Insight, LLC has served a wide range of patients in and around Portland, Oregon since 2010. We focus on musculoskeletal issues, concussions (mild Traumatic Brain Injuries), cranial dysfunctions leading to dizziness, visual issues and TMJ issues. We also see children for issues related to birth, injuries and developmental concerns. Additionally, we offer prescription eyeglasses from an osteopathic perspective, a niche treatment in medicine.
Our Provider

Thomas Stason, D.O.
Dr. Thomas Stason is the founder and principal physician at the Center for Osteopathic Insight, LLC. He is a seasoned practitioner and specialist in the fields of physical trauma, mild traumatic brain injury and vision. He discovered Osteopathy by accident (or as people here in Oregon say “on accident”) but he is sure glad he did! He deeply enjoys the depth and effectiveness that osteopathic practice brings to the patient encounter and treatment.

After a pre-med undergraduate education at the University of Michigan, Dr. Stason trained at the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine where he was selected for a year-long specialty fellowship in Anatomy & Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine. He then completed his medical internship in Worcester, Massachusetts and his residency in neuromusculoskeletal medicine and Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine (NMM/OMM) in Bronx, NY.
His teachers, for whom he is grateful, include AT Still, MD (the founder of Osteopathy), WG Sutherland, DO, Anne Wales, DO, Boyd Buser, DO, Jane Carreiro, DO, Jim Jealous, DO, Joseph Field, DO, Anthony Norrie, DO, Rachel Brooks, MD, Paul Dart, MD and Maud Nerman, DO. He regularly attends conferences to learn new things including several courses addressing traumatic brain injuries from an osteopathic point of view. In addition to clinical practice, Dr. Stason has been teaching osteopathic manipulative medicine to osteopathic medical students since 2001.

He grew up in the Boston area and spent much of his life on the east coast before moving to Oregon in 2012. He enjoys nature, birds, parenting, the Boston Celtics!, silent meditation retreats, going to CG Jung meetings, his men’s group (Mankind project), and playing sports and hiking.
