Frequently Asked Questions
TOP 5 QUESTIONS WE HEAR FROM PATIENTS
How do I book my first appointment?
The easy answer is to click on the link on the home page and set up an appointment as a new patient. We also invite you to call or email us as a way for you to determine if this clinic is a good fit for you. This also allows us to hear about your issues and offer an honest opinion as to whether we think we can help. Please reach out to us and we will get back to you as soon as possible.

What is the first appointment like?
Your first appointment is an hour long. Please wear loose fitting and comfortable clothing (stretchable pants and not jeans please.) Most sessions involve hands-on osteopathic manipulation treatments. Typically, people feel deeply relaxed at the end of the treatment. For the next day or two, they often feel sore, sometimes deeply sore. I consider this to be a ‘good’ sign as it tells me things are changing. This reaction often lessens over time.

What about follow up appointments?
Follow up appointments are 30 minutes in length and can be booked directly through this website.

How do I prepare for my appointment?
I encourage patients to arrive at least 10 minutes early. At this point, I don't have others helping me, so arriving early allows time to check in, pay your co-pay (if you haven't already when you booked the appointment) and to take a breath. Additionally, if I can, I often bring patients in early in order to have more time with them.
Following a treatment, I encourage people to give themselves time and space to help the treatment "integrate." In my experience, rushing right back into a hectic life impedes the effectiveness.

How long does it take to see benefit?
This depends, of course, on what's going on. If your issues have been present for a long time, treatment typically takes a bit longer. Occasionally one treatment makes enough change for a person's life and their symptoms to shift. Real transformation takes time and sometimes it can take several treatments to see benefit. As we work together I will be as honest as I can be as to how I think things are progressing and the need for additional treatment.
